Liverpool and Manchester United are meeting this weekend in a crucial game in the Premier League though two key players will now be missing from the match.

‘Lindelof has a hamstring injury, he suffered the problem against Brentford and won’t be available for a month. Plans to return before the end of the season, as well as Lisandro.’

It seems clear then that if both Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof are going to be missing from action for a month, then the duo won’t be available for this weekend’s clash.

That will come as a blow for Erik ten Hag, who will know how much Jurgen Klopp’s side will be coming to Manchester in search of revenge for a dramatic FA Cup clash.

Add on the fact that we will be hoping to maintain our place as top of the Premier League, as we close in on the ending to an amazing campaign.

For us, it doesn’t change a thing – only a professional performance and three points will be enough if we want to achieve our goals for the campaign.

We can only beat the team in front of us and after failing to do that twice already in this successful season, it won’t be an easy task.

First we must beat Sheffield United and then preparations for a massive game can commence.

He came to Anfield billed as a butcher and left Merseyside off the back of a 7-0 defeat, having been humiliated personally and with his knives firmly blunted thanks to the brilliance of our 30-year-old phenomenon.

Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez got away with what looked a clear foul on Mo Salah against Liverpool.

Midway through the first half, the Egyptian King was marauding along the right flank and seemed set to initiate a goalscoring opportunity for the Reds.

However, his progress was halted when the Argentine defender came across to block him, appearing to have used his arm at head-height on the 30-year-old forward.

Despite the incident happening very close to the assistant referee on that flank, he didn’t wave his flag for a foul, nor did Andy Madley penalise Martinez for what looked a clear breach of the rules.

How the officials failed to blow for that obvious obstruction is incomprehensible.

Manchester United fell to a shocking 4-0 defeat against Brentford yesterday and Jamie Carragher has claimed that the signing of Lisandro Martinez from Ajax ‘already looks wrong’.

Erik ten Hag’s side suffered their second straight loss in the capital and are yet to score a goal this season in what has been a far from convincing start to the Dutchman’s Old Trafford career.

The former Ajax boss brought one of his former players to the Premier League with him but that is a move that ex-Red Carragher has been highly critical of.

“#ETH has not started well but has a very good pedigree after his record at Ajax in the CL, but the signing of Martinez for over 50M already looks wrong!” the Sky Sports pundit tweeted.

At just 5.74 feet, the Argentinian is certainly a lot smaller than those you’d usually find playing at central defence, but ten Hag clearly sees something in the 24-year-old after splashing £50m for him.

If he wasn’t aware of the standard of the Premier League before his arrival, then he certainly will be now after being named in the starting XI for United’s two defeats to Brighton and Brentford respectively.
