Liverpool and Manchester United are meeting this weekend in a crucial game in the Premier League though two key players will now be missing from the match.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano on X: ‘Lisandro Martínez’s new injury is a calf strain suffered in training, Man Utd confirms…

‘Lindelof has a hamstring injury, he suffered the problem against Brentford and won’t be available for a month. Plans to return before the end of the season, as well as Lisandro.’

It seems clear then that if both Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof are going to be missing from action for a month, then the duo won’t be available for this weekend’s clash.

That will come as a blow for Erik ten Hag, who will know how much Jurgen Klopp’s side will be coming to Manchester in search of revenge for a dramatic FA Cup clash.

Add on the fact that we will be hoping to maintain our place as top of the Premier League, as we close in on the ending to an amazing campaign.

For us, it doesn’t change a thing – only a professional performance and three points will be enough if we want to achieve our goals for the campaign.

We can only beat the team in front of us and after failing to do that twice already in this successful season, it won’t be an easy task.

First we must beat Sheffield United and then preparations for a massive game can commence.

Micah Richards has been called out on Twitter for his strange analysis of Paul Tierney blowing up early at the end of the first-half v Manchester United.

Xherdan Shaqiri sent a ball into the path of Sadio Mane, but the ref signalled the end of the minute’s stoppage time after just 54 seconds – to the frustration of many.

Richards, the Sky Sports pundit, laughed it off, claiming that Victor Lindelof would have just headed back to David de Gea anyway.

But he really, really wouldn’t have. Mane was through on goal and would have had a guaranteed one-on-one with the Spaniard.

Would he have scored? We have no idea – but the rules state we should have at least been able to find out.

Liverpool were one of a number of clubs present midweek at Benfica’s Champions League draw with Besiktas.

This was due to the number of talented young players in their lineup, and we’ve found out the four stars our scouts were paying particular attention to.

First up is Gonçalo Guedes – a 19-year-old playmaker who’s been consistently linked to Chelsea and Manchester United in the past. He’s terrifically talented but would come with a crazy price-tag as he’s become a household wonderkid.

Next is Victor Lindelof, nicknamed ‘Iceman’ in Portugal because of his Swedish roots… He’s 22 and is as solid as he is tough. Lindelof has earned a regular spot in the starting XI now, and interestingly, can play at right-back too.

Perhaps most intriguingly, Alex Grimaldo is the next on our radar. He’s 20 and plays at left-back. The Spaniard is a former Barcelona B player who moved to Benfica in the summer. Already Grimaldo has established himself as first-choice left-back, a position we could obviously do with some cover…

Finally Eduardo Salvio, the 26-year-old Argentine, was also mentioned. Salvio can play anywhere in the frontline, but in truth – we can’t see him being a realistic target at any point. He’s worse than our current options in the final third and isn’t of the age where there’s plenty of room for improvement.

So watch this space! If we make any future bids for these stars, remember you heard it here first!
