Move over Saliba: 100% Liverpool colossus has been out of this world vs Arsenal

Liverpool may have Trent Alexander-Arnold to thank in large part for their goalless first-half at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

The Scouser was an efficient defensive force in the first 45, winning every single one of his ground duels and proving equally effective in the air, courtesy of stats compiled by @StatmanDave on X.

The Gunners were very much the dominant side in the opening half, squandering a surprising number of chances.

No idea how this is goalless

We’re on minute 61 at the time of writing and it’s quite difficult to understand how on earth the hosts have yet to take the lead against Jurgen Klopp’s men.

Fortunately, it seems the likes of Alisson, Trent and Ibrahima Konate are especially up for what has been a feisty FA Cup third round clash in London.

If we do manage to scrape through to the next round – forget about thanking the goalscorer(s), as our backline has been absolutely phenomenal.

  1. The pundits say TAA put on the worst defensive display they have seen. Right from the start they were so negative on Trent.

    1. I support Liverpool but the pundits were right especially his defending. He was being ran rugged and at one time abandoned his territory. Bradley defended better than him. He ie a defender in the making given the way he handled Martinelli

      1. Totally agree. Martinelli got past TAA with ease a couple of times and was posing a threat. Was a brilliant move to bring on Bradley and let TAA move up.

  2. It has been exposed by the bench that LFC are very.thin in depth. One wonders what would have been done by Klop should Quansa not have been able to continue.LFC should enter transfer window terrain and make one or two signings. It is evident for everyone to see that there is a dire need to strengthen.

  3. wondering what Arteta will blame for this loss – wrong grass, VAR, someone shouted at him or pulled tongues in his direction.
