The impending transfer of Gabri Veiga to Saudi Arabia may, perhaps, be considered a reminder to decision-makers at Anfield of the necessity of haste in the current window.
Fabrizio Romano confirmed the deal in question (for the formerly Liverpool-linked midfielder) on X on Saturday morning, reporting that ‘documents are signed and sealed’ following a breakthrough on Friday night.

Given that the former Celta Vigo man is considered one of the brightest talents in his age group (at the tender age of 21), any nervousness on the Merseysiders’ part when it comes to other linked targets (say Khephren Thuram and Manu Kone – both 22) would be entirely understandable.

In any event, in light of exclusive news acquired by Empire of the Kop on Friday regarding crunch transfer talks with Bayern Munich over the weekend for Ryan Gravenberch, we’d wonder whether the Saudi threat will hasten any negotiations.
Christian Falk of SportBILD made clear that we are prepared to fork out as much as £20m for the Dutch international, though it’s likely to fall short of the figure bosses at the Allianz Arena have in mind for another of Europe’s most highly-regarded talents.
The need for Liverpool is, of course, by this point not only great but extremely well-documented after a very messy (and visible) failed transfer saga over Moises Caicedo.
Whatever expectations we had over controlling the asking price will, realistically, have to be tempered if we’re to get any further business done and dusted.

how sad someone with the world at his feet has chosen to retire at 22 ,he is now a joke of a player who will never be taken seriously,i hope all these players get their legs broken because they still think they are at the top and deserve to be taken seriously, they are novelty players who are the laughing stock of football
If the saudi league can stengthen their league with smart signings like savic, vega etc. That league will risein due time.. Now people may not like the obscene amounts they can throw ard but make no mistake if players feel they can earn financial security for generations to come they will do it and i cant fault them for that..
As football fans i think its a win if we can have an alternative competitive league unless u r an sjw which must suck for u given the scenario..
Be that as it may i think shaming players who choose the money given by arabs is hypocritical given that u r also dont work for free.. Unless u dont like capitalism which again sucks for u but people dont have ur beliefs so move on is my suggestion
Agreed. Many footballers train they’re entire lives to make it to the level they’re at, coming from poor backgrounds etc. So they’re doing what’s best for them and their families like any person would do
As a Serie A fan, I feel same for players moving to EPL from Serie A, Ligue 1, La liga. EPL is only for money. Otherwise all the tactical football is not practiced in EPL, it’s only about speed like dick heads
Exactly most players move to EPL for money too so if Saudi league is giving Europeans sleepless night then it should continue.
Europeans have been snapping all talents across the world, if they want to keep doing so they should increase their fees.
I wish Saudi Arabia and American Leagues including China all the best if they can stand then we will have so many options of league to watch.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 You funny
Veiga will never know how good he could have become . And neither will the rest of football .
Thank God we had players like Messi and Ronaldo, to watch . When it’s been said that we will likely never see a player like Messi again , that likelihood now increases if youngsters like Veiga etc decide to move to unestablished leagues .
The Saudi League can be built easily by players coming to the end of their careers , the skill levels and experience are on another level , there’s no need for young players to go there other than greed from their hangers on . Young players should want to follow in the footsteps of Messi , Ronaldo etc etc .
