Nor do I want Man City or Arsenal to stop them. I want Liverpool to do it. And what’s more, I think they can. I know past seasons have taught us Liverpool fans to not get carried away. However, with the off field problems now behind us, a much stronger squad in place and Kenny Dalglish and Steve Clarke forming a formidable management team, I firmly believe the future is bright. Bright red.
There is also one extra factor that makes me believe my dreams will finally come true after too long a wait. We aren’t playing in Europe. Whilst this is disappointing, it also provides reason for optimism. Liverpool will have to play a lot less fixtures than the other teams competing to get in the top four. When the season really gets under way and fixtures start to pile up, we’ll have more time to recuperate between games and there is also less chance of the players getting injuries.
Don’t get me wrong, we are by no means favourites and I won’t be rushing out to put my life savings on us to win the title but I will be very surprised if we don’t mount a serious challenge and, under Kenny, with the players having fresh legs, I am confident that we won’t trail off like we have in the past.
Here’s hoping…
After today’s performance there’s still a long way to go.Like every season my full on optimism has now gone again, need central defenders, need an out and out striker…at the minute we need a miracle.and before people say it’s only 1 game gone, yes it is but it’s games like this we have to win whether it’s the first or 21st game.
I have to admit that although we have bought players we have not strengthened the squad. Suarez is always going to be a star but the likes of Carroll are not bringing anything to the party that the other prem teams cant handle. I think its another season of nearly but not quite…….
hahaha, what a load of absolute rubbish!! You won’t even get top 4 this season! Most of your signings are average at best! The one exception being Suarez…
